The memorial to the Colclough family reads :
"Beneath lie mingling with the ashes of his ancestors the remain of Samuel Colclough of this place; in whom, a numerous acouantance lament the loss of a respected social companion and the poor a charitable benfactor. He died 27, March 1804 aged 71 years leaving issue two sons and one daughter.
Viz John who died May 21st 1806 aged 7 years
Ann who died November 26th 1810 aged 23 years
And Samuel who dies June 5th 1813
Also in memory of Mary Widow of the above named Samuel Colclough. She died April 13th 1808 Aged 45 years."
Some time in it's history this memorial was placed in the tower where it currently resides.
