Prudence Low memorial
This memorial though it's lettering has faded can still be read. It reads :
"Near this place is interred in expectation of a blessed resurrection, the body of Prudence daughter of Fran: Low of Owgrave, gent, and wife of Thomas Burton of Aldercar Esqr. She was ye mother of 5 sons and eight daughters whereof only 5 remain alive at her decease viz : Eliz, Prudence, Michael, Buno Francis & Thomas. She died April 30th An Do 1679 Atat sue."
Owgrave was an area near Shipley.
It is possible that the memorial has been changed or that a mistake was made on the original inscription and the inscription changed, as the sections where the painting has faded show that other text existed.
