Our areas of ministry are many and varied.

Here are just a few of our main ones:

Prayer & home visits.

Prayer is available during and after all Sunday services.  The church is also open at times during the week for private prayer.

Members of the congregation and community can arrange to meet for prayer whenever it suits them.

Home visits are arranged for those who are unable to directly attend services at church.

Study Groups.

Please feel free to enquire if one is currently available.

Coffee club drop-in

A Coffee Morning takes place  weekly in the Church on a Tuesday 10 am to 12 pm.

Coffee, tea, hot chocolate, teacakes and toast are served by a team of Church members.

A warm friendly atmosphere is created for people meeting together for coffee and a chat.

This includes a Knit and natter group most weeks.

Keep fit group

The Keep Fit Group is exercise for the over 55 's.

We call ourselves 'Keep Fit in Retirement'

The class  takes place in the Church Hall  1:45 to 2:45 pm on a Thursday during term time.

The group is lead by a qualified instructor, Margaret Pyphers.

The exercises are planned to suit people over fifty. There are people over eighty years of age who regularly attend.

The exercise programme is planned to strengthen our bodies  keep our blood flowing and our minds active..

The excercises are adapted to the beat of popular music.  We finish with a cup of tea and a chat and all enjoy the friendship that has grown from this mainly non Church Group.

C@StL (Children at St Lawrence) is our children's group during the more formal Sunday services. C@StL is not currently running.

The PCC discussed the possibility of resuming building lettings.

Some limited use of the building for worship has been possible during August and September but only by managing traffic carefully and having multiple external doors open to ensure good ventilation to help to minimise the risk of Covid transmission. However, the weather is getting colder and with the infection rate increasing closing the doors (and thus removing the source of fresh air) seems very unwise. We also have heaters which warm the air and blow it out into the worship space – the Churchwarden Team believe this could distribute any infectious material in the air and add to the risks, including to those using the building on subsequent days. It is also not feasible to meet with the doors open as it would be extremely cold and uncomfortable. Therefore, the PCC have taken the decision that the building will not be available for regular lettings during this winter. This will be reviewed regularly, but it is unlikely that any regular use of the church building  will be able to resume until the weather is warmer.

We understand that some people may be disappointed about this – but the PCC believe that this decision will be the safest and most appropriate way forward.
